Gina: What genre of books do you like to write?
Victoria: I love to write contemporary romantic comedies. The witty
banter and scorching hot glances between the leading couple are the most fun to
read and write.
Gina: What is your inspiration for the current
book or series you are writing?
Victoria: It’s #4 in my
Calderone Family RomCom Series titled Lost and Found Love. It’s a reunion
trope, the hero is the eldest Calderone brother, Stephen. He’s totally
alpha-male and is having rather a difficult time getting reacquainted with his
high school love, Jenna. My inspiration
for this novel was wanting to continue with this fun series, and to make
Stephen’s life completely miserable before he can have his Happy Ever After.
Gina: Are you a plotter or a pantser?
Victoria: I’m a list person, so
I’m mostly a plotter, but I have no hesitation in taking the story where the
characters want to go…sometimes it works out better than what I originally
planned.
Gina: Do you have any quirks or habits when
your writing?
Victoria: I make a hot cup of
tea, turn off my phone, and head into my writing cave. Sometimes when I’m
writing, I listen to music, but if I’m editing and really need to pay attention
to what I’m doing, I shut the music off.
Gina: I like to work in silence also but that
is rare in my house.
Have you had any setbacks becoming an author?
Victoria: Oh yes. All authors do
when they’re first starting out. It’s a HUGE market out there and finding your
readers takes time and patience. Overnight success takes years, as the joke
goes. Writers have to love what they do so they can push themselves through the
tough days.
Gina: So true Victoria. I think most of us
write more for our own passions than for that of others.
What advice would you give to someone who would
like to become a writer?
Victoria: Write, write, write. Plow
ahead and dedicate your time and effort into producing the best novel you can.
And, always hire a professional editor and cover designer – those will make or
break a book.
Gina: What is some of the best advice or
inspiration you have received from another author?
Victoria: A fellow romance author, who has now become a dear friend, told me to keep your feet firmly planted on the ground, but reach for the stars. Always dream and have fun envisioning what success as an author would look like to you, but you can’t skip the hard work it takes to become successful.

Gina: I think many of us can take that perspective
in life as well.
What goals have you set for yourself in the
future?
Victoria: My current goal is to
complete my Calderone Family Series (6 books in total) within the next two
years. And I’m currently working on a new series – The Southport Beach Series,
and my goal is to release the first book in 2021. Each novel will be a smart
and sassy stand-alone romcom.
Gina: How do you want readers to see your work?
Victoria: I’d like to think they
enjoy the many twists and turns in the love story, that it touches their heart,
and that they have a good laugh, too. I’d like to think the characters become
real to them, and they share their hopes and dreams as well as their flaws and
mistakes. I hope readers find my books a welcome and enjoyable escape from
their everyday life.
Gina: I love that. When I read and review it is
what I am looking for.
What should a reader expect to see from your
next novel?
Victoria: They should expect
more romance, fun, drama, additional insights into the Calderone family, and a
roller coaster ride of love before the happy ending.
Gina: Keeping the details to yourself. I guess
we will just have to wait.
Is there anything you would like to share with
your readers?
Victoria: Thank you! I appreciate the love and support from all my
readers and hope that you’ll drop me a line on my website’s Contact page to let
me know you enjoyed my novels.
Gina: When will your next book be coming out?
Victoria: Designing Love was
released in early November 2019, so my next novel, #4 in the series, Lost and
Found Love, will be released next summer.
Gina: Thank you Victoria Grant for joining me
today and sharing with me a little about yourself. I haven’t read any of your
books yet, but I will be sure to add to my list. After hearing such a fun and
active writer as yourself, I can’t resist.
Victoria: Thanks Gina, for
interviewing me! It was such fun to do
this.

Series with Victoria’s latest release.
