Gina: Why did you become an
author?
Charity: I’ve always
loved stories. Love to read them. Love
to imagine myself in them, love to make up my own. And I wanted to share them with others, so
becoming an author was just another step for me.
Gina: What genre of books do
you like to write?
Charity: I love
romance. I started with paranormal
romance; I’ve just now started adding sci-fi romance. Soon I hope to have fantasy and maybe some
urban as well.
Gina: What is your inspiration
for the current book or series you are writing?
Charity: The novella
I published for Christmas wasn’t really inspired by anything other than the
desire to write a Christmas themed story.
The current book I’m working on though is inspired by Beauty and the Beast,
but the idea started when I bought a premade book cover for no reason other
than I liked it.
Gina: Are you a plotter or a
pantser?
Charity: Totally a
pantser, I don’t plan anything.
Gina: Do you have any quirks
or habits when your writing?
Charity: I do most of
my initial writing in pocket sized notebooks that have to be typed later
on. It’s tedious, but I get a lot
written like that.
Gina: Have you had any
setbacks becoming an author yourself?
Charity: Marketing
sucks.
Gina: What advice would you
give to someone who would like to become a writer?
Charity: Just
write. Learn. Listen to advice. Don’t take criticism personally. Be adaptable, but be yourself as well.
Gina: What is some of the
best advice or inspiration you have received from another author?
Charity: Ask
why. Another author told me to look at
my characters and their actions and ask why.
Why did they do that? What is
their motivation? How are they reacting?
Gina: What goals have you
set for yourself in the future?
Charity: I’d like to
finish more than one book a year.
Gina: How do you want
readers to see your work?
Charity: I want them
to enjoy reading them. I want them to
relate to my characters and the situations they find themselves in.
Gina: What should a reader
expect to see from your next novel?
Charity: My next
book, Dance for Me, is a little darker than my others.
Gina: Is there anything you
would like to share with your readers?
Charity: Leaving a
review is the best thing you can do for an author, it makes a difference in how
others see their books and their willingness to read them.
Gina: When will your next
book be coming out?
Charity: Hopefully
before April 2020
