Author Interview with KB Wheelock

KB Wheelock's stopped by today. She is busy writing her next masterpiece but she was kind enough to give us a little of her time to tell us about being a writer. So let us get to it.

Gina: Why did you become an author?
Kirsten: I have always enjoyed writing and felt that I expressed myself better on paper. But I never thought that the stories in my head were worth writing until I was encouraged by some authors to try writing.

Gina: What genre of books do you like to write?
Kirsten: Paranormal, Fantasy and Space Opera

Gina: What is your inspiration for the current book or series you are writing?
Kirsten: Twisted Kiss Series started as role reversal but when I started writing it, I decided I also wanted a 1940’s feel to it. I love the vintage clothes and history (well not the wars).

Gina: Are you a plotter or a pantser?
Kirsten: A definite pantser though I am trying to teach myself to plot.

Gina: Do you have any quirks or habits when your writing?
Kirsten: other than I procrastinate like mad on facebook

Gina: Have you had any setbacks becoming an author yourself?
Kirsten: Marketing. It is sooo hard.

Gina: What advice would you give to someone who would like to become a writer?
Kirsten: Do it. You don’t know what you can accomplish till you try. The only story not worth reading is the one that is never written.

Gina: What is some of the best advice or inspiration you have received from another author?
Kirsten: Listen to your heart and stay true to yourself.

Gina: What goals have you set for yourself in the future?
Kirsten: To enjoy what I am writing and not stress over it. Yes, I would love to have the next Harry Potter type success, but what really matters is that I enjoy what I am doing. Oh and maybe to try to be more consistent with my time.

Gina: How do you want readers to see your work?
Kirsten: As different views. I tend to twist stories, make them span multiple genres and be a bit unexpected. I want you to come away thinking that is different.

Gina: What should a reader expect to see from your next novel?
Kirsten: Contemporary Jaded Romance. Killove Brotherhood is a contemporary reverse harem series that tells of a group who don’t believe in love, don’t believe in happily ever after. But they discover sometimes the thing you need most is that which you are not looking for.

Gina: Is there anything you would like to share with your readers?
Kirsten: I love hearing from you, knowing what you liked in a book, what grabbed your attention.

Gina: When will your next book be coming out?
Kirsten:  March 31st. But it is a kids book not under this name. My last romance was in Feb and is Killove.

Gina: Thank you for your interview today. Check out KB Wheelock newest book and some of her others.
